Let's Take A Risk
Monday, June 11, 2012 at 8:00AM Part two of my shoot with the talented Bess Friday {part 1 here} was at sunset & in hindsight a quintessential moment in my adventures with Dean Street Society. A year ago I never would have worn this outfit. Things I've embraced in the last year that are demonstrated here include: wearing animal print, wearing button-downs, wearing button-downs tied at the waist, layering a shirt over a dress & boldly layered accessories. Fully owning my role as a stylist & seeing the world as a style blogger has given me so much permission to take risks & is a constant reminder to be creative. Whatever your job/title/vocation, the same can apply to you. The only person who has to give you permission is you.

What's a style risk you've taken in the last year? Something you've embraced that hadn't crossed your mind this time last year?
with grace & gumption,
Hilary
P.S. Miss Bess' handiwork is also over on my "About" page which recently got a little face-lift ...

Oh my talented, your Miss Bess! My very first thought when I saw this post is "oh my goodness, I need her photographer." Ensued a fantasy about doing a shoot in the City this summer. This was before I even read a word and before I saw that you even mentioned the photographer or had a photo shoot. Alas she seems to be in San Fran. The photographs are stunning as are you, my dear. Love the new 'about' page. You go girl!
Absolutely adorable- love love love this look on you. And of course, Bess is talented<3
Amazingness. Love Bess Friday's work. love your style. love this whole collab:)
Thank you girls so much! And by the way Samantha, I've done 2 shoots with Bess in the last 9 months, both here in NYC. So she's definitely on this coast a few times a year!
I love this look! The bright blue with animal print is just fabulous. There is so much that has changed about my style since I started blogging. It's been such a fun, enlightening experience. I've always loved fashion and getting dressed, but it's 100 times more fun now. I don't know what I would do without the bloggy-style world!
Aww thank you Kiki! And I so relate!
