How to Wear Fashion Trends

This ensemble is the first in a lil 3-part series on how it takes just "1 to be Remarkable". I took a $14 little black dress from Forever 21 & styled it with just one remarkable piece. You know me. Remarkable = worthy of remarking upon. And these poppy colored peep-toe bows from Macy's often get a remark.

This ensemble is also a great example of how to embrace trends. Poppy/coral/tangerine was a huge trend for spring 2012. Previously, I would have done this look with cherry red: heels, lips & nails. But getting the idea of coral in my head this spring ... it's had me feeling much more summery! Whatever shade is "in", don't try it because it's cool. Try it because you might not have thought about it before. And consider it even in small ways like a lipstick, nailpolish or shoe.

P.S. These photos were taken on film {yup, real film!} but the oh so sweet & oh so talented Jen Sosa! She also did this cheeky shoot which might be one of my faves to date!

Such a cute outfit! Love an inexpensive basic dress. I tend to spend more money on accessories, and just pair that with inexpensive clothing.

By the way, love that this is shot with film. :)

Thanks Cara-Mia! And ooh isn't the real film just dreamy?! I love it!
